Hello all CO Subaru enthusiasts!

There have been attempts to get things started for Subaru enthusiasts in Colorado for over a year now by various people. This is another open invitation to all of you who would like to meet others with the Subaru habit. Xenongod and myself are trying to get something together for Sunday the 27th of July in Morrison for lunch and possibly a trip up to Red Rocks after. If you are interested please e-mail me at tjdrury@hotmail.com or leave a post here ( with e-mail address) and I'll be in touch with you. This is an informal get together to learn everyone's interests in the Subaru hobby and possibly lead to other events or possibly the forming of a Colorado club. If this date is not good for you let us know that also. If response is higher for another date we can possibly move it. Thanks, and hope to meet all of you soon,

I may be out there that weekend! Where is this town you are meeting at compared to Denver? Closer to Denver the better I have to drive home on Sunday.

Hey!!...Wow!! Good to see some quick responses...it's all coming together. First of all...the city of Morrison is west of Denver just a mile or so north of where C470 and US285 (Hampden Ave) junction. It lies at the foot of Red Red Rocks Ampitheater Park and on the other side of the hogback where you will see Bandimere Speedway on the west side of C470. The restaurant I was thinking of is called The Red Rocks Grill and here is the link The Red Rocks Grill ...there is also a coupon that you can print out...only thing is that it reads "One web site coupon per day per visit per person per group please.

Not valid with any other offer."...a lot of "per"s in that...kind of confusing. After brunch/lunch...head up to Red Rocks in a convoy of Roos to take pictures and chat. I even have the capabilites with my two computers to edit video and stills to CDs...in VCD...AVI...and MPEG file formats. If all goes well...we might even put a name to our club and make bumper stickers or something. Already getting excited to see some of you Subaru enthusiasts and your machines/toys....hehe.:smokin:

Asher,

Shot you an e-mail last night with what I have so far. Just in case you don't get it here's the skinny so far. Yes it is tentatively set for the 27th at the Red Rocks Grill (details above). Working out the details for time still, because not all have responded yet. I'll keep the post updated as I get new info and more people give me a shout. Thanks,

Definitely up for it. Just gotta set a time now. Maybe later afternoon when it isn't so hot, but early enough so that we can take pics before it gets dark? Or whatever works best for everyone else. It's about time we had a meet. :D

I think i will be out there and I want to camp in a tent somewhere on Saturday night. Can anybody give me advice on a campground that has nice showers and tent camping and is somewhat scenic that I can count on getting a site at?

Any tips or help are greatly appreciated. If somebody wants to camp next to us for the night that would be fun too.

Well...hrmm....I haven't heard anything from tjdrury since the weekend...but he has about 4-6 people locked into going...including me. I would prefer for it to start at around 11:00 am or so at The Red Rocks Grill...get a bite to eat...take a drive up to Red Rocks which would take about 15 minutes to get to the top.. then take some pictures and chat for a few. I don't know how far some of you are coming from...but if that is too early...let us know in this thread...or email tjdrury or myself. Going whitewater rafting tomorrow...so I may not even be alive for it...hehe...wish me luck...woooohoooo.:smokin: Remember...this is to see if we can get a club started and plan more meetings....gotta start somewhere...eh? Got bit by the Subaru bug a year ago...and am still feelin' the effects...truly awesome cars.

Hey everyone,

I think Jeffrey's idea for 11:00 is a good one. So let's plan for that. If anyone has problems let me know. I'll make one final attempt to reach any others who want to attend on the "General" board. Can't wait to see you all! Till this weekend then,

now when we go to the resturaunt, are we going to meet outside, or inside? because if its inside, we might want to come up with a group name or something so we all know what to tell the waitress, so she can direct us all............just a thought.......

I'd love to come, but I won't be back in Denver till August:(

Let me know if the meet is successful. Maybe I can get to the second one! (I'm coming back to Den to check out a job lead, so I may just make it back for good before long!)

See everyone on Sunday.

Jessica -- If you still want the WRX wheels, I could bring a set. I really need to get rid of them. Let's deal.

Kellie --Are you going to be there?? If so, could you bring the console?

Thanks,

Jay

Outside or inside?...hrmmm?...well...we all do love our cars...and meeting in a parking lot would probably be my preference...because all you have to do is look for the Subarus since we don't know each other's faces. Maybe even tack on a sign or something to your car with your real names and USMB member names. How about this? Let's have a contest for club name and logo...sound good? I think Shawn has had the most experience in how Subaru meets go...and am thinking it would be nice of him to host or something...but we will see. Another point is that I don't think the coupon that is on The Red Rocks Grill website would work for a group...we could just trickle in and maybe get away with it. If anyone has pictures or whatever to share with everyone...please do so...spice it up a little...eh? Anyhoo...gotta go jump in a raft on the Poudre River...hehe:smokin:

I guess I dont mind talking and stuff but I dont know if me organizing it is the best idea cuz I wont be able to attend all of your get togethers. This is just a special trip out there I am making for some parts that happens to align really well with going to your meet.

I will be in a Silver Honda CRV with Iowa plates on it unless plans change and I end up coming out in my Grey 87 Brat. The heat this time of year is keeping the Brat parked at home. CRV is not mine it is my girlfriends and I wouldn't mind all of you giving her a good ribbing about the H badge and selling her on buying a Forester.

Her complaint is they aren't tall enough...CRV is taller.

Anybody wants my Legacy Alloy Wheels for a real cheap price I will bring em along. 14" from a 94 GT Wagon.

So 11:00 at the Red Rocks Grill in the parking lot. Anyone have directions? I'm not sure where that is. Jay, I will bring the console for you. See you guys soon.

Really easy! take C-470 to the Morrison exit (Morrison Rd.) just north a bit of 285 (Hampden). Morrison Rd. runs thru the center of town, and most everything is right off of it.

Hey everybody...I lived through the raft trip...it actually wasn't too scary except for all the rocks and strong current..good variety in rapids though..went twelve miles down the Poudre River in 2 1/2 hours...woohoo. Anyhoo...on a previous post in this thread there is a link to the restaurants website...with specific directions on how to get there...even a menu and printable coupon. If you look on my website you will see what my wagon looks like...kinda of hard to miss actually...friends tell me I should paint numbers on it like it's a rally car...hehe. Hey Shawn...I agree with that one member's comment...a lifted Forrester would be cool for your woman...don't see a lot of those..but CRVs are all over the place...plus they are known for tipping over...saw one in a ditch in one snow storm off of US285 in the mountains...with not much left of it. Well...hope to see some of you there. Oh...one thing if anyone wants it...I have a '82 hatch grill for round headlights and passing light...I think they were round...could be square...hrmm....but...speak up and it's yours for coming...and if you want the passing light frame...it's yours too.:smokin:

I called Mike at S-wings to let him know of the meet and linked him to this post a min ago.

Guys, get as many of your Subaru owning buddies together as you can! Don't even have to bring a Subaru just an interest in them.
