gregB
Today the Legacy's drivers door lock/unlock switch stopped working the lock. It will still unlock, just not lock. Passenger side switch, and the key make it work still. Bad switch? Does the door panel need to come off or can it be pulled with panel in place? Can the contacts be cleaned? idosubaru
well since it's been raining like this area thinks it's the northwest - if it got wet - let it dry out and it may start working again. my 02 OBW has gotten the switches wet, not worked, been quirky - then dried out and has been fine since. otherwise yeah pull the panel to clean or replace. Suzam
Yes you need to pull the door panel if you do need to replace it. It's mounted on a steel template along with the window switches. Easy enough, just be careful when removing the panel re are plastic holders that like to pull out of the panel, never to stay in again. Also there are a couple of screws to remove on the armrest and behind a plastic plug cover.. You can look on ebay for the whole group of switches, then you just unplug the old one and plug and play the replacement.
Cougar
Dirty or bad switch contacts on the LOCK side or possibly a broken wire in the door jam.
