daddycoolj
OK, I need some opinions. I'm replacing the clutch in a 2002 forester. Is it easier to pull the engine, or take out the transmission. I've done clutches 3 times on my previous subarus, and I'm not excited about taking out another transmission in a gravel driveway. What do you guys think? desertsubaru
IMO it is easier to pull the engine. Do the rear main while its out.
Fairtax4me
Just depends on what equipment you have, and what else may need to be done to the engine. If the engine needs valve cover gaskets or other seals to be replaced, many of that can be done much easier with the engine out.
