lstevens76
So, I picked this up today. I need to do some engine work (will discuss that later, but I have the parts on order), but I can't complain for what I paid.

lstevens76
It was a nice find, and then I found a good running Phase 2 EJ22 for $100 for it as well. Just trying to find an engine hoist since I'm down to 5 transmission bolts and ready to swap it.
AdventureSubaru
I built a cherry picker out of 6 2x4s and 4 steel castor wheels. Just use a come along and some rope or chain. Good looking car. I'm about to drop a SOHC 2.5 into a 99 like that. They have a lot of pep!
lstevens76
I want to build a Frankenmotor for it, but I want time to do it so I can do it right. EJ251 Block w/ EJ22 Phase 2 heads, STI Head gaskets, all OEM gaskets otherwise, full valve job, etc.... To do that I need time which is why this EJ22 Phase 2 is going in. And I have a hoist, just fighting one nut. Edited July 9, 2015 by lstevens76
lstevens76
So, I learned something. If you use an 18" Flex Head Ratchet you can get that bottom driver's side bell housing nut from the top! It's out! No longer fighting it so all I need to do now is drain the oil (which I should have already done, I know), then pull her out. I need to swap a few components then put the new one in. lstevens76
The swap is in and it's running like a champ. AC works, cruise works, etc... I still need to do the Driver's side Axle + Ball, it's going to need struts soon, and I need to tear the dash apart to replace some burnt out bulbs.... But she runs good. lstevens76
Well I found another one, wrecked on the right front and supposedly bent frame. I'm considering picking it up since it has the leather interior (rare for an Impreza) and factory fogs. So this car might be getting a few more upgrades in the near future. What it has gotten was a new stereo + new front speakers and I have new front struts and brakes I need to put on it.
