xyzb
Just swapped out a 2.5 DOHC(99) for a 2.2 SOHC(95) Legacy. All went very well - no codes, runs good. I did notice that there is a loud air/high pitch frequency noise(hard to describe) coming from the air box. Not sure what it is - it has a brand new filter installed. Maybe something in the vent (inside fender) or an issue with the PCV? Thanks all - especially for the info on the engine swap. It went really well. lstevens76
Have you checked to make sure all the connections are seated tightly and sealed? It could be you have it not quite tight somewhere and it's sucking air.

silverhelme
My Impreza has a high pitched whistle that shows up when I use Fram filters. For some reason they don't seal right. No other brand including Subaru does it and it only happens in my '07 not my '06.
