So I currently have a 78 wagon in almost perfect condition that I would love to turn into a sleeper, I have a connection for a 1st gen turbo legacy that I'm going to strip for parts and I have a couple questions on this;

1.since I want awd would it be absolutely impossible to swap ej crossmember,arms, blah blah blah so that I wouldn't have to make custom axles + I would gain the strength of ej axles and have a decently wide stance, I know I need to get under my car and really check spoob out but I want know if some has done it before

2. No matter what I want an ej tranny, so should I find a 1st gen legacy 5 speed or should I upgrade to a 6 speed, I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to give it a slight lift/crossmember drop to fit this under the car though, which is fine since I want some wider racing tires so I'm not slipping every time I gun it.

3. Is a turbo swap any different from a base ej22 swap, cut everything that isn't in the engine bay correct?

Anyway, I'm super excited to begin this

I would start by measuring the width of the legacy hub to hub and the 1st gen hub to hub to see how much the width difference is. A ea81 car is about 3 inches narrower than a ea82 which means the ea71 cars are even smaller. I know the legacy is wider than the ea82 but i don't know how much. Depending on how much wider the legacy is you might be able to find a different off set rim that might work. Other wise use the ea81/ea82 5 lug swap/suspension upgrade on this with the stock cross member. Probably best off doing what some have done which is cutting the 2 front sets of axles up and welding/sleaving them.

Alright so the legacy is about 5.5 inches wider(2.75 on each side) someone took the crossmember so I couldn't measure that out, but that doesn't seem to bad, nothing rolled fenders and a nice offset couldn't fix
