04FozzyXT
Hello all, I have had my 04 Fozzy XT for about a year now and I am actually going to school for auto tech, but while this is all good and all I really miss my burnouts. What is the most inexpensive method to increase the madness?
TOONGA
You will need to remove the front shafts but leave the outer CV joints in place. Then you will need to find a RWD conversion spool to replace your centre diff. If you leave the stock centre in the car will not move as the centre diff transfers power to bothe front and back wheels something like the product below is what you need http://www.streettuned.com.au/Drivetrain/Spools/PPG-RWD-Conversion-Spools-Subaru-Impreza-WRX-5-Speed-99-on-/prod_780.html You will then be able to blow up as many rear diffs as you want TOONGA
desertsubaru
Get a rear wheel drive car so you can do burnouts.
04FozzyXT
I would but as a student I really only have the money for one car...but its actually my 3rd favorite car in exisence. The 04 was the first US release of a turbo fozz, according to somewhat extensive research. Also the Fozzy holds a place in my heart, because my last name is Fazi. Yeah, its awesome. But I was truly hoping it wasn't a late enough model to need to put forth that much effort into the conversion. It looks like the girl stays on all four then. 04FozzyXT
Also, its more an interest in drifting than just sitting there smoking away money. One holds a much stronger challenge.
lstevens76
Converting "ANY" AWD vehicle to RWD is going to cost, and usually not cheap. Subaru's are one of the easier ones and some other brand's newer cars you can't even convert it. Just watch your local ads for an old american made car w/ a v8 for cheap. You said your in auto school so find something cheap w/ problems and fix it. Get your burnouts and keep the forester as is.

On my 94 Grand Cherokee I can just take the front drive shaft out, Don't cost a cent except my time. Could never figure out why someone would want to change a perfectly good drive train that will give you better handling in awd to rear 2wd with worst handling. You can still drift in an awd Subaru. AdventureSubaru
You'll spend as much $$$ turning the forester into a piece of crap as it would cost to buy a decent RWD project car. I have a low opinion of burnouts as it's thrashing perfectly good drivetrain and tires just for noise and smoke. Firecrackers and smoke bombs are cheap. Subarus deserve better. But to each his own... Even in RWD a forester is not going to have a lot of power to be good at such things. Retired police crown vics etc. are dirt cheap and carry a big honkin' V8 with RWD. You can find an ugly one anywhere for under $1000. and every pick n pull I've seen has about a dozen of them for whatever parts you destroy. Don't thrash a perfectly good Subaru just to make smoke. Unless you're a stunt man or make $$$ off performing at car shows etc. Most of us cringe and shake our heads when we see kids destroying and abusing cars that way.
matt167
find a Toyota Cressida. Basically an ugly 4dr Supra. They are a low buck drift car and they are still affordable.
