Bluepearlgirl
These aren't very good photos but they're the best I can do. I have dozens of these little nicks and scuff type things on the front of my car and I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas about how to smooth this over. I have tried the bug and tar remover, that doesn't do a thing, wax doesn't make it look better, nor does scratch remover help, cleaner wax, nothing. I guess it's just tiny rocks or road debris nicking the clear coat, I'm not sure, but I have no clue what to do. Each week when I wash my car there are more and more of these things. Any ideas?? Fairtax4me
Sand, rocks, bugs, who knows what else, all happening to be airborne just at the time you're driving by, and that's the result. The only thing you can "do" about those is have the front of the car sanded down and re-cleared. Subaru kinda cheaped out on the clearcoat on the later models and the chips on the hood and front bumper is something many many people have complained about. Even if you fork over $1000 to have it re-done it will still get chips in it because that's just the nature of a moving vehicle. Its gonna hit stuff and the paint is gonna get chipped. Learn to live with it, because you'll worry yourself sick otherwise.
sirtokesalot
you could try to see if a sticker company will make a large piece in the color of your car and put a large vinyl sticker over these sections to protect it like some of the newer cars have. Flowmastered87GL
They are rock/stone chips. Common up here in Oregon where they sand the roads with gravel in the winter when it gets icy or snowy. A good paint place may be able to touch them up.
