I'm not sure I've heard of any transmission with those terminology before. If its an all wheel drive you need to keep matching gear ratios. If not changing gear ratio will be fine. Taller gears will change shift pattern and may or may not help with milage

Hi Mikaleda, Sorry for my sketchy description. It is a Subaru impreza 1999 GF2 two wheel that i want to change the Gearbox with Subaru Impreza 2002 GG2 gearbox. Since i have not been able to get the actual Gearbox for GF2 that is why i was seeking assistance from you experts on how to go about it.  Let me ask, what is gear ratio for this exchange and how is it done?

Okay I think I know what your talking about. It sounds like you want to change it out with a phase II gear box with 8 bolts instead of 4? If so I believe I've heard of people swapping those out without any issues. I am not familiar with the gear ratios in those years but, you should be fine as long as its going in a two wheel drive. It may shift slightly different but, I don't think it will affect anything
