Pacosquared
i have a 1995 Legacy L 2.2 SFI? While driving it it suddenly got Hot and water spewed out the drivers side in the engine compartment. From where? So I refilled the radiator with about a gallon and then continued on when suddenly it it stalled. I checked and filled the oil. It was down 3/4qt. Now it only turns over and will not start? Where do I start? Thank you.
desertsubaru
Check for the basics first. Does it have spark at the spark plugs. Is it getting fuel,. Pull the drivers side Timing belt cover to inspect the timing belt. Check all relays and fuses. Also find out why it got hot and spewed water.
Pacosquared
I pumped a few squirts of starting fluid and no change in the turning over so I assume no spark? I will check the timing belt. Is there a place to go to view owners manuals/ engine schematics? Thank you.
mikaleda
Sounds like a t-belt failure. Water pump probably went out and kicked the t-belt off. I would Start by pulling the drivers side inspection cover and take a look

Good thing is.........if Tbelt broke, the valves will not be damaged.

Yep, that's why I like my old 2.2s they were called the bulletproof motors for good reason.
