SalemCat
I had no complaints with my radio reception until my antenna was stolen in Boston. A replacement from the local Subaru Dealer is $50 + ..... Ouch !! There are many aftermarket versions for sale on Amazon and eBay, but I'd like to buy one that someone can recommend from experience, for hopefully $20 or so. I bought a Carbon Fiber model from China on eBay for $8 that bleached in the sun from black to some weird bronze color and worked poorly. Every other day I've had to grab a stepstool, reach up, and twist it to get any recepton at all. So I bought another, longer model with a Black Rubber mast on eBay for $18. It broke while I was installing it. The US Seller was reputable and refunded me. I plan to use some Dielectric Grease on the next one to hopefully improve the electrical connection. But first I need to figure out a good antenna. Edited October 8, 2015 by SalemCat
Fairtax4me
There's really no replacement for the quality of a OE antenna on newer vehicles. There's quite a bit more engineering going on than what may appear as just a stick of metal covered in black plastic.
