antond141
Been trying to get a brat going i got a few months back. The ignition wiring is a mess and i am really at the end of trying to do it blind. I was hoping someone could explain where the important wires run and what color they are. So far the only way i have been able to get the thing to turn over is to run a jumper wire from the + on the battery to the coil.... But then everything has constant voltage..... until i remove the wire then i cant get anything. Any advice would be appreciated
jono
it might help to add if you have points dizzy or electronic and that you have matching ign coil as well what do you mean by everything has constant voltage there is a starter circuit to spin starter over, and there is the ignition circuit to allow the sparks to happen are you using a normal ignition switch and key, and just what sort of mess is the wiring ? From what you write, sounds like you are trying to power the starter via a wire to the coil ? What if you wired 12V pos to coil pos and gave thing a push/roll start ? Followed power through from batt pos to fuse link box and out to ign switch ? Edited October 11, 2015 by jono
