soopsoop Posted October 20, 2015 Share Posted October 20, 2015 my 1988 gl wagon had a bad gas milage problem which is one of the reasons the p.o. got ride of the car. i changed the filters and the hoses and it still sucked gas,it is the throttle body system so i turned the key on and heard the pump come on and smelled strong gas looked under it and saw gas shooting out so i shut the key off and climbed under to find the leak. changed the hoses that didn't help when i saw the leak it was the end of the pump at the seam. i didn't want to spend 300 bucks on an oem pump so i went to pull and save and bought two pumps for 10 bucks they are easy to change. a screwdriver and a 10 mm socket 5 minutes and it is done. now to fix the other problems which i think i just about got done.
