richfoub
Hi all, am going to change the timing belt and water pump on my '92 Loyale station wagon. Apart from the timing belts, tensioner, pulleys, waterpump and gasket what else should I replace while I have it all apart? Cam seals? Rock Auto looks to have just about everything I need. DaveT
Cam seals and the o rings under the piece the seals press into. If the seals or o rings are leaking. What is the age and miles on the oil pump? Check the front crank shaft seal.
richfoub
Hi, I'm guessing the oil pump is probably original. Do you know of any part numbers for the O-rings you mentioned? Is it possible to rebuild the oil pump? not sure if you can still purchase a new one. Richard
DaveT
I've bought them from Subaru dealers, or as part of a Fel-Pro head set. I have rebuilt the oil pumps. Using the Fel Pro additional set that lets you re seal the entire engine.
idosubaru
1 Crank seal and 2 cam seals Cam cap orings Oil pump shaft seal Oil pump gasket Oil pump oring Water pump gasket - from subaru - the aftermarkets are flimsy thin Springs for the timing tensioners might not be a bad idea if they're reasonable and available I would buy crank and cam seals from subaru. i've had aftermarkets work fine, but i've had them be notably off dimensionally/not fit well/leak too. Someone years ago even measured OEM and aftermarket EA82 seals and posted pictures of them mic'ing them and the differences, others had this issue as well
