1990LegacyLSss
I have a 1990 subaru legacy manual Trans and I've been having quite the idling issue. I just replaced the MAFS and she still won't idle what so ever. I'm planning on cleaning my throttle body and replacing the gasket to see if that helps. I've already replaced the top end throttle body vacuum line and it didn't do anything to help. I need some wisdom due to this being my first import please help me out
Fairtax4me
90-91 had problems with the idle air control valve. Need to try cleaning that first. If it doesn't help the valve may need to be replaced. There is a large hose that runs from the idle valve to the intake tube. Make sure it's connected. Easy to overlook if you move the intake tube to change the filter.
1990LegacyLSss
I know the hose i didnt even think about that thank you very much ill go for that first. What type of cleaner do you recommend to use?
Fairtax4me
Throttle body and air intake cleaner. Seafoam also makes a spray cleaner called Deep clean or something like that. Last I checked it was quite a bit more expensive than regular TB cleaner.
mikaleda
A good intake cleaning may not be a bad idea either.
