Sonicfrog
Where should the keyless entry module be located on a 2005 Forester S? Some say it should be right by the security module behind the glove box, others say it should be right above the fuse box.Either way, I don't seem to have one.Note: A previous owner of my car tried to install an aftermarket alarm system. The only thing it did was to make the lights flash when you hit the buttons on the FOB.
Sonicfrog
I found it!It's on the passenger side, behind the glove box, near the door.OK. So I have three remotes that are supposed to work... None of them do. One is the original, the other two look like this.http://www.carandtruckremotes.com/2004-subaru-forester-remote-b.html?utm_source=2004-subaru-forester-remote-b&utm_medium=shopping%2Bengine&utm_campaign=googleproducts&gclid=Cj0KEQiAj8uyBRDawI3XhYqOy4gBEiQAl8BJbZaGi3NhgCHBfhqnH6PDsXzOXeThpdENSi9mFKO5YVkaApBW8P8HAQ
Sonicfrog
The keyless module was indeed on the passenger side.....WOOT!!!!! Problem Solved!!!!The problem I was having was..... The instructions to program the FOBS were not quite accurate. They got two steps swapped. They say that after the program mode has been activated, you press the FOB button to program, you will hear two honks from the horn, then you open and close the drivers side door.Nope.... You push the FOB button, open and close the drivers side door, THEN you'll hear the horn honk! All three of my FOBs now lock and unlock my doorsAnd I did rip the useless Valet alarm out of the car. That was annoying!
