Reason01
Does anyone know the WHP for a 97 Legacy GT? its 165 at the flywheel. How much power is lost in the drivetrain??
charlierh2
i believe normal AWD drive train loss is 20%-25% but not sure on that
wrxsubaru
It really depends on if its a uto or a manule. A stock WRX puts out around 170 WHP and 227 HP at the engine, so its alittle less than 30%. I really dont belive in the percentage if you add, or take way HP. I dont see how you would lose Hp at a linear amount, and i cant see a WRX 5spd with 1000 HP only having 700 WHP. I think your car would have around 110 WHP.
Reason01
It's an auto, I was once told around 33% would be lost. I was just wondering if the is a solid number to go by.
Setright
Second gear is locked 100% on a cyclic auto 'box, so there would less loss inthat gear. This is not a simple concept.
wrxsubaru
I wouldent use percentages to determine how much power you put down. They dont seem that acurate after you add or take away horse power. If a manule AWD WRX is losing almost 30%, and a auto FWD SVX is losing about 30% i bet it would be in the high 30%s. I wouldent belive 33%.
