AdventureSubaru
I miss a good romp in the snow. Just rain here in California. Hoping to get some snow for my kiddo to play in when we go "home" for Christmas
Bushwick
We've had an unusually warm dry spell in northern Ohio. Normally it'd be in the 20's with actual snow coverage. So far, only seen a light dusting that barely covered car windshields and been hovering in the 40's-50's otherwise. Basically having an extended Fall. Fairtax4me
I'll be drinking margaritas and pina coladas on Christmas Day because it's supposed to be 75 here. Some rain in the forecast tomorrow and Wednesday. After that, hot and sunny. Near 80 on the 24th. Its July in Christmas!

Remember wearing shorts and playing in the yard.
ironworkerboomer
This much snow here in Salmon valley is rare. Usually have to go up in the mountains to play. Hope to get the yamaha sno-mobiles out this weekend.
AdventureSubaru
EL Nino is what they are saying. In California it's a big deal since theres been several years of drought in a row now and El Nino makes for a wet winter. So far, so good. Still got a ways to go to get the water tables back up

Bushwick
Finally got snow around here, got close to two feet in the past couple days. Finally get to try my new tires out. Lucky you. Wish that snow would head east. Mid/upper 50's today and tomorrow, with upper 60's and thunderstorms/rain on Saturday/Sunday. Very weird winter thus far. Normally it's snowing by Thanksgiving. If it stays like it is now, probably going to break all sorts of records for the wrong reasons.

Ya this has been a weird winter, we didn't get hardly any snow till about a week ago and now its been dumping. We usually have more snow than this. Bushwick
Is your area of Idaho flat, farm lands? (like what Iowa mostly is?) Or are there a ton of trees, hills, etc. like in OP's pics? Edited December 24, 2015 by Bushwick
mikaleda
I'm about 8 miles south of priest lake, fairly hilly and I live about 18 miles to the back of schwietzer by snowmobile. Lots of fun sledding hills around, old log roads can make fun sledding hills.
Fairtax4me
El Niño is definitely making things interesting this year. Went fishing with my buddy last weekend and we were sitting in the boat in shorts and t shirts. Still feels like hurricane season with the rain and humidity.

I have to go south to get to flat, farm land. Driving up Lost Trail pass this morning to take son snowboarding it should be a beautiful drive.
