The Scooby
ok today at work i pulled a set of rear KYB shocks and springs off a 4wd car. but then found a set of 2wd ones and cut the springs on them. my question is, both sets are KYB's mind you, can i use the kyb's from the 2wd on my car or are those also longer then the 4wd one's and if thats the case ill just snag the 4wd ones and cut 2 coils off them. and also i grabed a set of front 4wd springs off thats same 4wd car, and cut like 2 coils off, how much lower will i be in the front with those, i was hoping for about 1 to 1.5inches. Thanks, Shean
Qman
Rule of thumb for cutting coils is only 1/2 a coil at a time. 2 coils sounds more like 4" to me. But you won't know until you put it together. And as far as shock length goes. Just put them side by side and measure them fully extended and fully compressed. That will tell you the difference.
