87 gl-10 master cylinder upgrade

Recommended Posts

So I got the larger legacy master cylinder for a 94. Impulse ebay buy! And upon looking at my car today I am assuming I need to use all 4 outlet ports as my stock one. The legacy mc I got only has 2 ouputs. Anyone know exactly which one I need? All in able to find right now is legacy mc with the two outputs!!! I'm putting my impress knuckles one and TEIN suspension and next is the etc brakes. So I want to try and source the correct mc soon!

Or, go to your local auto parts store, and get 2 of these. M10x1.0 inverted flare tee fittings, you'll also need a couple short lengths of brake line with the same fittings to go between the master and the tee.

The 2-port masters are for ABS. And the ABS pump splits the pressure from 2 lines to 4. Just make sure to keep the front and rear connections oriented the same as they were. The primary and secondary pistons (front and rear) within the master are what allow you to have some braking force, should you have catastrophic hydraulic failure somewhere.

I have an extra one with two port for sale if you are interested. I part SVXs out I even have all the lines still hooked up haha

I've got a new legacy two port right now. I think I'll pass and try to track down the 4 port. Thanks though!

I ended up with a FWD 92-95 SVX non ABS master cylinder that is a 1 1/16th" bore diameter. Since I grabbed a new Centric brand, it also came with the resevoir.

I have yet to swap it as the XT6 has been pushed to the back burner for the winter, again...

I've decided not to put my gl-10 on the back burner this year! It's sat in the shop way to long. I ended up with a 94 legacy abs mc also centric new with resivior. But only the two ports and it's a 1" bore. Where did you get yours?
