gooner1800
Hi everyone, newbie here and new to Subarus. Just driven 4000km in recently purchased 1993 DL Sportswagon with no issues - very pleased with the car. However, she has developed torque steer to the left under acceleration. My mechanic says all the front end bushes are fine but the right hand front shock absorber needs replacing. I have read this thread and it seems almost any front end problem can result in torque steer in these cars but I'm still unsure whether this symptom could really be caused by the shock absorber - any ideas? Any advice much appreciated! Cheers, Thom
DaveT
If it has original struts, they are due to replace anyway. IF your torque steering matches the descriptions in that other thread, it sounds like most were fixed by replacing the lower ball joints. Pretty much any part of the suspension can cause odd problems with steering since its all interconnected.
