its_masters Posted January 25, 2016 Share Posted January 25, 2016 I recently blew my stock engine which is an EJ251. I just picked up a low milage engine out of an 09, which I believe is an EJ253 with Variable Valve Timing. I was told swapping my heads and intake will work, but from reading some of other posts, I'm not so sure. Some say that the pistons are shaped differently and hit the valves of the 251 heads. Some say to just leave the 253 heads on and keep the VVT disconnected. I'm not really sure what to do here. Any help is appreciated! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
