89GLWagon
I'm looking for help diagnosing the front turn signal lights on my '89 GL Wagon. Problem: Both the right and left turn signal lights are not working on the front of the car. Assumptions: 1. The rear turn signal lights are working. 2. The turn signal light bulbs in the front are working (not flashing) when the headlights are on and not indicating to turn. 3. The turn signal indicator is working on the instrument panel when indicating to turn. 4. The normal clicking sound is heard when indicating to turn. 5. All of the fuses are good. Thank you for considering the above. Your advice will be appreciated. Edited January 28, 2016 by 89GLWagon
DaveT
I once made a mistake regarding a similar situation. The turn signal lights on the front are recessed in the bumper, not up by the headlights. Just checking.
Loyale 2.7 Turbo
Welcome! ... The turn signal lights on the front are recessed in the bumper, not up by the headlights ... In case you already knew that; there's a good chance that both Bulbs are burnt. I kindly suggest you to check 'em and replace if necessary. Kind Regards. 89GLWagon
Problem solved! I had originally checked the "turn signal lights" following the replacement of a cracked parking light housing on the quarter panel in anticipation of a state inspection. My height and anxious personality combined with the turn signal lights' low location under the bumper led to me overlook them - mistaking the parking lights for the turning signals. So, it turns out to be an end-user problem...
