genoinmd
Hi everyone, A friend of my daughters just got an 88 Justy 1.2, standard trans, with carburetor. I will be helping him change the timing belt. That looks pretty straightforward. My question is about setting ignition timing. I found a spec of 5 degrees BTDC. Vacuum advance hose disconnected? I saw some references (for a 92) to connecting the test connector under the dash, I'm guessing that is for fuel injected engine. Does this apply to the 88? Any tips/advice/suggestions? Thanks! Gene On a vacuum advanced distributor just warm the rig up, make sure your idle speed is set, unplug and cap the vacuum hose and set timing.
