machineit
Hi all, been reading threads here on ways to lift with tubing. Some say it's a easy project, which is my favorite, however my concern is whether I should lower the running gear. Is it nessasary so I get 10 years out of CV joints as opposed to 6 by not lowering the engine, transmission and rear diff? I plan on a 2" lift. Cheers Edited April 8, 2016 by machineit
skishop69
You have to lower the engine as part of the lift, so front CV's are not the issue. The rears are the ones you have to worry about. You have to make the call on whether or not to drop the rear diff. Dropping it saves stress on the CV's especially if you're wheeling, but you'll lose 2"-4" of clearance at the diff if you do.
