odie
I need a dipstick....mine broke it's tip at one of the tiny holes at the end... The tip is somewhere in the bottom of the block but given the engine block design I don't think it can be recovered without splitting the block...I don't think any damage will occur since the oil pump pickup should have a screen. I'm searching for a dipstick and need to know what all is compatible...any EA-81 dipstick? Get a universal dipstick...if so what length was the original and where are the high & low marks on the OEM dipstick?
Norcalbratcap
The tip should be in the oil pan, how the heck did it break?
turbosubarubrat
You can get them from the dealer still but don't know the part number.

Norcalbratcap
Yeah your dealer might have it but at the very least can give you a part number to try and find it online, and yes the ea81 has an oil pan the back bolts are a pain to get off (at least they were for me lol) but thats where you will find the tip, and if you cant get a new one you could solder aor braze weld the tip back on your stick, but also while you have the pan off look around for "why" did it break, good luck.
