iamthevieve
I was replacing the valve cover gasket on my 95 legacy and broke the bolt because I'm a dumbass. It's broken inside (not sticking out and not flush) and I can't find a replacement bolt nor can I find a part number online. I have a 2000 outback that's down for head gaskets. Can I use one from that?
iamthevieve
Nevermind. It's too big. Damnit.
Olnick
Any salvage yards or pull n' pays in your area? Might find a replacement there. Good luck!
forester2002s
I doubt if it's anything special. Probably just a regular-grade metric bolt. You just need to find one of the correct length. Any auto-parts store should have one.
1 Lucky Texan
I THINK (not certain on this engine) they are 'shoulder bolts' and not 'typical' at all.
jp98
Autozone usually carries a good supply of different shoulder bolts. I would just take one of the good ones out and head down to a parts store and see if they can match it.
Fairtax4me
If it's the middle bolt just put a rubber grommet in the valve cover and you can use just the two outer bolts to hold it on. The rocker shaft assembly is easily removable and you can grab another end block from a junkyard car and get some spare cover bolts. If no junkyards nearby look in the parts classifieds here. Also pretty sure the timing covers use the same bolts as the valve cover.
