Dogjaw
I just picked up a mint one owner 85 GL with 63k miles, original tool kit, etc for 1200.00; the only thing that doesn't work is the clock, which is somehow appropriate. It does seem to be a bit wallowing in the corners; at what point should I look at replacing the struts, or is this normal? 63k is not a lot of miles, but it is a lot of years. I plan on taking it west across the Rockies this summer; want to get it squared away as best I can.
two85s
Sounds awesome! Manual or auto? Post photos (I use Photobucket) when you can. Yes, the shocks get tired and need replacing typically. I've replaced the rears (struts) and not the fronts yet. I would look over the engine cooling system and lubrication system, ...carefully and methodically, first. Replace filters, oil, coolant mix, etc. after flushing the systems properly. Second would be the cooling system hoses and then vacuum hoses (the Subaru originals are excellent quality and may not need replacing at all but look for cracks or weak spots). Does the car have maintenance records? Cheers!
Len Dawg
I would follow two 85s suggestions that's kick rump roast though!
