Islandbike27
Owned this legacy for a couple of years now and have changed the fuel filter before. Bit after changing it this last time, it won't run anymore. Fires up no problem, runs for a few seconds, and then starves out. Pump is cycling on during ignition, and I do have high pressure fuel coming out of the filter (installed correctly). It's obviously a fuel problem.. Possibly some sort of air lock in the injectors? Is there a bleeder nut on the rails that I am missing? I have replaced the pump relay, and the coil and still having the same problem. Could it be possible that the ECU is causing the problem? 97 Legacy L AWD
Crazyeights
I read about a similar problem here on USMB in another persons thread. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/130624-2000-outback-fuel-pump-assembly-metal-cap-is-broken/ I hope this helps. Fairtax4me
Did you remove the fuel hoses from the engine? The fuel system can take several key cycles to fully prime after replacing the filter. How many times have you started it?
idosubaru
Fuel pressure regulator? Has the engine ever been removed or had major work? Will it start with starting fluid or carb cleaner in the intake?
idosubaru
Subaru fuel pressure regulator issues are nearly unheard of but I was just thinking what's next. *** how do you know it's a fueling issue? I bet it's not if you have fuel after the filter? Any check engine lights?
