Ghrasshopper
I have a gl with an ea81 motor the engine has been rebuilt but I have no idea where all of these vacuum hoses go to. I can't seem to find more information than what's on the underside of the hood which for some reason does not cover every hose. I'm aware that a Webber would be the easier way to go but I can't afford to that right now and I need to get it running. ANY help would be appreciated thank you. soobenthusiast
I went through the same thing last weekend, here's a thread with pics of my current setup. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/159628-carter-to-hitachi-swapbut-not-yet-running-well/ After trying several combinations of plugs and orifices on my high speed and bowl vent lines, the high end is still a bit erratic and cuts out a bit more than I would like. I was also trying to convert a feedback carb into non-feedback, so it was a tricky setup anyways. The new Hitachi also had some issues with the choke working properly, so my cold starts are also not better... What year is your car? Even the Haynes manual has some very nice vacuum diagrams Edited July 8, 2016 by soobenthusiast
