mikeshilk
Replaced the turbo in my 06 Legacy GT about 18 months ago at about 100K miles. Mechanic said to expect oily smell for a few weeks . That went away in a few weeks but came back last winter. Getting an oily smell after running hard (turbo kicks in) and can observe some smoke coming from under the hood. Hard to tell if its coming from the intercooler or from under it. No significant drop in oil volume between oil changes. Mechanic replaced the valve cover gaskets but its still doing it. Will ask if he checked the PCV valve per advice another forum. Otherwise it runs fine. Any other ideas or experience with similar symptoms? brus brother
Did you check to see if one of your cv boots is torn? That grease has a particularly nasty smell when it is flung onto the engine/exhaust.
