1991 Subaru Legacy GT BC5-C (JDM)

1997 Subaru Legacy GTB BG5-B (JDM)

A few photos of the fleet

The Leone:

1988 GTX 1.8 EA82, 3speed Auto FWD (for now), Electric windows, central locking, power steering and trip computer. I did have the digital dash, but needs repair.

And finally my 1997 Legacy GT-B BG5-C from Japan. Needs a head gasket replaced but it bone stock. Very nice car, has about 149,000 KMS on it.

And that's about it.

The BC is mostly finished. I'm trying to keep it as stock as possible. The BG just needs a set of head gaskets and a VF18 replaced. And for the leone, well I have a plan for that. I have asked some questions so we will see what comes out of that!

Cheers

Without stealing Mitchells thunder can answer the question on spares

NZ has been importing JDM 2nd hand cars for the past 30 years and availability of spares / mods / upgrades usually no problem.

There are companies here that specialise in importing ex Japan  JDM 2nd hand car parts / components.

As this area where we live in NZ has the highest per capita level of Subaru ownership so there are spare parts lying around somewhere as well,  probably most used  abused especially  up and down mountain roads here.

We Kiwis like to get the most out of something til it dies.

Welcome! The GTX looks like a upper-spec model for the time. What are spare parts like in NZ ?

Cheers!, The GTX seems to be quite a rare model also a NZ New! Very high Spec model to have. As subnz said. We don't have our own market for cars. So Imports were pretty much the only option. The Leone's are around but are getting hard to get parts for. Not many Turbo ones still around. I've only seen 3 in 15 years. (I might not be looking hard enough :) )
