Swmonteton
Want to see what people think. I just bought this car yesterday didn't realize it had such gnarly positive camber . Has any one lifted with the sjr 6" and had this issue . I'm going to give sjr a call tommorow but figured this would be a good introduction too

turbosubarubrat
Somebody might of installed the blocks wrong. If it was one of the early kits made it probably just has that much camber. I would talk to him about it.
Swmonteton
I read that the struts might need turned 180 °
Swmonteton
I'm pretty newbie at suspension work could the springs be to big maybe the wrong size struts? It's only in the front end back looks fine
Swmonteton
Looking how the cups that hold the spring are not Flat I could see how rotating them could possibly fix the problem

Swmonteton
Is this even a six " lift?
Numbchux
That might be normal. These cars have a bit of positive camber in stock form, and larger tires can make *look* a lot worse. But I'll let Scott chime in as to whether those blocks are on the correct side. And yes, that's 6". The drivetrain is not dropped as far as the suspension. So the 4" diff bracket is perfect for 6" strut spacers.
Swmonteton
Should I run smaller tires? I get a lot of rub too lt235/75r16 is on it now. What is recommended size
Swmonteton
Also when I go over large bumps I get a loud popiping from shift gear from hitting body looks like that lititle square rubber piece is cracked and splitting could that be the culprit? Swmonteton
And while I got u guys here I'm I missing something or was this deleted because of lift. I'm talking about what looks like a support bar went over or under the exhaust there are to bolt holes on either side.
Swmonteton
Figured out the bushing on the shift linkage saw someone replace the bushing with a piece of rectangular tube steel. Found out the missing piece in my last post was some sort of cross member presuming they deleted it after the lift going to try to fabricate something that will fit . Detected another problem sound the drive line was hitting the bottom of the body going to put some spacers in there give it some more clearance. I'm going to take the pressure washer out there today and clean off the bottom with some super clean . I'll be able to take better pics I'll try to get as many as I can so any one can see what I did. ...getting some sort of popping sound from passenger side front wheel . I'll take some pics as well . There is a bushing that is toast . Actually pretty much every thing rubber on the car is toast. I'm hoping after replacing all the rubber might fix the sound ....was thinking it might be a strut too? I'm going to drive it around the property and see exactly what kind of popping and In what intervals it occurs .
Swmonteton
Put spacers under the shift linkage no more rubbing on the body. Put spacers under the driveline support no more rubbing on body. Found a bunch of loose bouts all over the place tightened everything I found. Car drives so much better now. It's getting dark now and ran out of gas on my pressure washer so it's so dirty down there it's difficult to tell what is what. If any one can point me in the right direction on the positive camber that would be cool . I did not have time to call sjrlifts this week.

Scott in Bellingham
I think that's what you are looking for? Its hard to tell from the pic but looks like the strut extensions are swapped mounted correct just left needs side needs changed to the right side, the strut should be tight against the body inner panel, 28-29" tall tires about max Edited October 1, 2016 by Scott in Bellingham

Loyale 2.7 Turbo
Figured out the bushing on the shift linkage saw someone replace the bushing with a piece of rectangular tube steel. ... You mean that he could remove the Strut Top blocks, flip 'em and reinstall them? The SJR logo on them, should face the Fenders as that strut blocks are from your older SJR design, isn't it? ... as far as I know, only the Newer SJR lift blocks has the SJR logo facing the Front. Kind Regards. Edited October 1, 2016 by Loyale 2.7 Turbo

Swmonteton
Thanks guys I'll probably turn the strut blocks so they face the fenders next week. I have a loose tie rod I'm gowing to replace along with the a arm bushings aswell . Took it for a lil 4x4 today lot of fun but hell is that car gutless going up some steep hill sides. I got an ej25d along with a fly wheel and spacer plate . Was going to send in the wiring harnesses to have them spliced sometime in the next few weeks. Hopefully get that motor in there sometime by November. Should be a really nice rig to drive in the snow once everything gets put back together. No pics again but will post some soon of the spacers I installed soon. Cheers and thanks again
