vtwinjunkie
Greetings all. I have a 1996 2.2 legacy with a misfire code that goes away with an ecu reset (disconnect the negative batt terminal for a bit and reconnect). This tells me the issue is not a mechanical issue.... so I was thinking it had to be some sort of sensor going out or maybe a MAF or throttle body issue? Anyone have any thoughts? As I mentioned, once I reset the ECU the problem goes away for a while. I can drive the car around town for a week without it coming back! But it does come back. vtwinjunkie
after Pulling the plugs out and checking gap/condition....specified for the 2.2's is .039-.043 they fall outside of this range being all around .055 Rather than re-gap and throw them back in I decided to upgrade the copper plugs (after going through service records I found that they had 35k miles on them) with NGK iridium plugs. Once gap checked and thrown in, It runs 10x better and I cant recreate the issue anymore....I will keep everyone posted if it comes back Edited October 2, 2016 by vtwinjunkie
