I found this hardware on the floor of my garage. I don't recognize the parts and wonder (with great concern), if they came off of my 2015 Subaru Outback. I've look under the hood and under the chassis and can find no logical place for them to have fallen from, but then again...??? Of course Google's no help, of course the service dept. at the dealership's no help. Can anyone on this forum help? Can you confirm or deny these parts fell off of my Outback?

Any particular area of the car where they would have been under when the car is parked in the garage? Front? Rear? Left/right?

They don't look like car parts to me. No dirt or rust on the screws.

Anybody else use the garage for a project when you're not home?

I see nothing of consequence or anything recognizably subaru.

Things don't just fall off cars unless severely rusted or already removed. Keep on driving. Your car is fine.

This is reassuring and, while I wholeheartedly agree that things shouldn't fall off cars, I think it's naive to think it couldn't happen.  2015 saw drastic changes to the design of the Outback.  I don't think it's entirely out of the realm of possibility that some newly designed part might not stand up to rigorous driving; and we drive 'em hard here in Arizona.

I found these bolts and springs on the floor of the garage on the passenger side of the car near the middle of the vehicle.  They appeared on two separate occasions, one spring/bolt combo at a time.  In both cases, shortly after having the vehicle serviced.  No dirt or rust, but fresh grease.  I keep my garage clean and cannot determine where these might have come from.  An inconclusive google search for similar springs turned up evidence that they might be associated with some Forrester models, but, as I said, the search was inconclusive.  I appreciate your help and input.

(If someone's using my garage for secret projects while I'm not at home, I think I've got bigger problems. :) )

Appliance leveling stuff?

This is an intriguing possibility...but, I haven't installed any new appliances recently.  These springs each turned up on separate occasions, out of the blue, I just can 't figure it out.  Thanks for your input, I do appreciate it.

I'm not sure if there is anything mounted under the vehicle on that side, but I would focus on that side looking for a part that may now be loose on a hanger or bracket. The metal tabs on the screws appear to fit inside of those black plastic pieces above them in the picture. The springs could have been there to cushion vibration or shock of the part they were on, or were part of some type of adjuster maybe.

I would guess a fog lamp adjuster, but I don't see anything that looks like that in the parts diagrams for the fog lamps on the 15 models. Plus if the fog lamp adjuster broke I think the bits would have been caught in the splash shield.

Thanks, Fairtax4me, I'll look into that.

Any pranksters in the house?

Just the wife and I, CNY_Dave; and she is definitively NOT a prankster.
