3Pin
Does anybody have the drill bit and tap sizes for an EGR port for a 2003 2.5 left head? Caboobaroo mentioned he had it, but he has been off line for a couple of days. Have the head and need it ASAP. I will take pictures and post this once I have the proper drill bit size and tap size for people in need of this in the future.
wtdash
Hi, You see THIS? I'd see if it'd work on your newer model. Saves a lot of work.
3Pin
That is an awesome workaround. I have to look at how it would work for the 2003 2.5 I have.. My motor is out of the car and the head that was original is bad, so the tap is not hard with the head out of the car.
86BRATMAN
The workaround will work, I've done it before. But if you want to make it oem the thread is m20x1.5 for the phase 2 egr bung.
ocei77
The posted workaround works, but there is a simpler way. Cut the egr tube in half, rotate it 90 deg. facing pass side. Take the iac hose and the cut egr to auto store and get a foot of the size that fits it. There is another fitting that will go over it that will make a tight fit into the iac hose.(not sure of size) If you don't have another iac hose around get a foot of 3/4" ID hose of any type. Get a 3/4" T barb. Plastic is fine Hose clamps is all else you need. Lay it out as you install it so that you cut the iac hose in the right places. Will post pics as soon as I get to the car that the mod is on. O. Edited October 6, 2016 by ocei77
lmdew
Yep, works great. I've used a spare Brake vacuum line, just make sure the check valve allows the EGR to pull air. Ace Hardware, Plastic hose barb Tee with a brass hose barb reducer screwed into it. Works Great
dp213
I've done it a few times. Oreillys has plastic tees, 3/4 x 3/4 x 3/8, and 3/8 hose to go from the tee to the cut egr tube.
