Jman1991
My 1993 Loyale won't start. It seems to be getting spark. when I turn the key to auxiliary I can't hear the fuel pump working. I even disconnected the fuel line from the fuel filter to see if it was pumping gas and there was no pressure. is there any way to know for sure if the fuel pump is bad before I buy one for 200$ Edited November 19, 2016 by Jman1991
DaveT
This should be in the older generation forum. The fuel pump won't run with the key in accessory position. It only runs in cranking position, or when the ecu is getting pulses from the engine running. In test mode, it cycles on and off. To test the pump, you can unplug it from the harness at the oump, and temporarily power it with wires.
robm
Test mode: Connect the green connectors under the hood by the driver's side firewall. Turn on the ignition. You should hear the relays under the dash clicking, and the fuel pump running. They cycle on and off for 2 seconds or so. If the pump doesn't run, check that the relay is OK. If worse comes worst, power the fuel pump directly from the battery (a wire direct to the red wire on the pump).
