dave+Sub=trouble Posted June 13, 2004 Share Posted June 13, 2004 I have a 1984 Sub 4x4 and she is running rich. Getting about 14 MPG. I shoot out black smoke when I mash on the gas going up hill... Apart from replacing the O2 sensor and or Coolant temp sensor is there a way to adjust the fuel mixture so that my car will get the right mixture? Got a Hitachi Carb setup. Emmisions then you should check for trouble codes and go from there. If you don't have Cal. emmisions then there is an idle mixture adjustment. Also check your float level. A weber just opens up the tuning possibilities. Stock hitachis are ok but u cant do much to them in the way of tuning.
