gt_tony
As title states, chasing a 2nd gen Brat rear sliding glass window. Will need it shipped to Australia. Happy to pay premium postage (package between timber boards for protection etc) What have you got? Cheers
TomRhere
Got one here out of an '86 GL BRAT. I tremble at the thought of what shipping charges would be though. Company I work for ships stuff all over the globe using various carriers. Got any preference? I can take it to work, get it properly boxed and quoted. Just need address it's heading to. A business address should be cheaper.
gt_tony
Is it in good condition? Or would clean up to good condition? (Dont want to go through all the trouble if its rusty/cracked/perished). Would you know if the window rubber would be the same as a non sliding window? (Do they even use a window rubber?) How much are you chasing for it? And i can do a buisness address. Its the East Side of Australia
TomRhere
To late in the day to go have a look at it, but it was in good shape. Will take a good look at it after work tomorrow and post back. If the weather cooperates, I may snap a few pics of it for you. Yes, still has the seal rubber around it. Not sure right now of its, (the seal), condition as it has been some 14 years since I pulled it out of the BRAT. We'll talk price and whatnot after I/we get a good look at it. skishop69
IIRC, the slider has a different width/thickness frame an requires a different gasket. If the gasket is hard, you can wipe it down on the outside and in the channels sparingly with MEK (methyl ethyl ketone). That will soften it up. I mean sparingly, because too much will soften it so much that it will tear when you try to install it. don't soak it, just a quick wipe. Use Q-Tips for the channels.
