ivantruckman Posted January 30, 2017 Share Posted January 30, 2017 I have a 1986 gl wagon , 4x4, 4 inch lift . 15 inch steel chevy redrilled rims . my struts keep blowing in 4k miles average driving . im using new gr2 gas inserts . my coil springs are stock and kind of weak . can a weak spring cause this .? If you have worn springs and no bump stops, you are ruining your struts. You are correct, you probably won't need them with stiffer springs, but it's a good idea to prevent strut failure. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
