loyale1993
Loyale1993, did you figure out your noise? I'm going to look at it this weekend. I'll leave an update.
loyale1993
Tore into the axle today and swapped it out with a new one. The metal grinding noise is gone now. However, I did have a new squealing noise. So I put the car back in the air and inspected my work and it all looked fine. I sprayed some wd40 where the axle meets the knuckle and the squeal stopped. Drove it a few miles and still no noises.
Dee2
Sounds like you got it resolved. Sometimes it has to be driven for a while, if the noise returns then recheck the torque at the axle nut. There have been occasions where a little over torquing can solve a stubborn noise.
Jman1991
I had the same problem with the grinding noise. after I replace the CV axle it was still making the noise... it turned out it was the bearings. I had hit a pot hole so hard that it ruined both. And like other people are saying when you replace one side its good to just go ahead and replace the other as well
