turfman454
i realize this is an odd request. I think my painter put the wiper arms for the motor on in some weird way that i cannot get the wipers to operate correctly or park in the right position. It appears to be wired back correctly since there is okly one way to plug it back in. When you hit the wiper switch the wiper motor is pulling the wipers down. Anyone have a picture with the cowl panel removed so i can see how they are supposed to be attached when they are in the park position
dumptruck
Sounds like the arms were installed in the wrong timing during the "rotation" of the wiper motor. This is what I would do, assuming that the "park function" of your wiper motor isn't working correctly. First remove both wiper arms. Turn the wiper motor on and watch the studs turn, they should have about a 90 degree travel back and forth. Turn the wiper motor off right when they finish their counter clockwise travel and are about to start their clockwise travel. (Probably take a few trys to get it stopped in the right spot) Reinstall wiper arms with about an inch of gap below them and the bottom trim of the window. Assuming something isn't wrong with the actually transmission of your wiper system that should put your wipers in the correct orientation.
turfman454
thanks. I think somehow he must have removed the two attachment point rods that go to the motor. They start out counter clockwise when you first turn them on
TomRhere
Just looked at the wiper system of the '82 BRAT. In Parked position, the arm from motor to DS wiper is at the bottom of the motor pivot.
