Seasillmaggee
Im unable to open either of the rear doors. Upon further examination it appears at least one of the hinges is cut, and possibly another is cut and removed. I would like to use the doors, but scared to open it just to have the door fall off and be unable to put it back. The car has pwr dlocks too. Ideas? Thanks
Dee2
If the hinges are cut, it's best to get this problem resolved. Bad day if the doors break off while going down the road.
DaveT
Thwre is a switch that disables the power locks for the back doors iirc...

ferp420
I have the same issues my back doors wont open ether but i sure it has to do with the fact that they were welded shut funny no windows ether huh no seats ether besides who needs back doors anyway lol and my outback has the exsact opposite problem there are no doors left to open or close so i guess im sayin who needs any doors anyway lol
DaveT
Ok, always good to check the simple things first.... I never had to deal with your problem, but I'd look at removing the seat to make getting the door cards off easier?
Seasillmaggee
Well i did get the door cards out. Theres a rod that moves straight down when i use the handle, but the part its connected to isnt moving, so that leaves me to think the latch mechanism to the striker bolt is the problem. Seasillmaggee
Havent had too much time. Im doing a head gasket on our van. Poor subie is on the back burner... And looked under the oil cap recently on the subaru and there is fresh water droplets. Looks like perhaps yet another headgasket is in my future... DaveT
maybe, maybe not. If it's exposed to extreme temperature cycles, and little driving, a little water on the oil cap I've seen. The normal tell for headgasket to cooling system leak is air getting pushed into the coolant, not the coolant into the oil. Except for 1 very bad overheat with low coolant have I seen that. Seasillmaggee
Well that makes me feel a little better. Idled it for 30 mins watching radiator for bubbles and none were there. No overheating at all. No white smoke at startup, no symptoms. hooray.
robm
That is just normal condensation from combustion gases. The filler tube is long, so it gets cooled off, and this condensation occurs.
