briankk
Could the plated LSD in an R160 be bolted onto the crown wheel of an 4ATE in place of the open diff there now? I'd likely wind up fiddling with the axles splines, but I just want to know if it will bolt in and work, given the proper axle splines..
WoodsWagon
No, the ring gear (crown wheel) flange on the 4eat front diff is a way different offset than the 5mt or a r160. The pinion runs off to the side of the transmission, not centered, so that's why. Modina, an Aussie company, made torsen style front LSD's for the 4eat, but they were $$$$. https://www.flatironstuning.com/p-2003-modena-front-tbd-for-the-02-07-wrx-4at-automatic.aspx Edited April 11, 2017 by WoodsWagon
briankk
OK, thanks. I knew about the Modena unit, but it's too spendy for me...
