d8usti5n
So I broke a rear cv axle on my brat over the weekend, Ive got two good rear cv axles from an ea82 wagon, theyre about half an inch longer than the cvs on my ea81 brat.... I know the immediate answer is no dont do it!, but wuth those axles just sitting there, it makes me curious if anyones ever stuck ea82 axles on a ea81? DaveT
What part broke? Maybe part of the EA82 ones are the same, and the length is just the long shaft?
d8usti5n
The boot tore, all the ball bearings came out somewhere along the way, and the ball cage slip out onto the shaft. When i took it out the shaft and housing completely seperated. Ive never rebuilt an axel, would this be rebuildable with parts from the ea82 axle? Gloyale
you can swap the EA82 inner cup onto the EA81 shaft. Same with the outer as well if your EA82 shafts are double DOJ style. If the EA82 shaft has the fixed outer end CV (87+) the outer end won't swap.
