06SubLegTx
Is easier or harder to reinstall the engine with intake manifold Off or On? I have a Strongway Lift with Engine leveler. My concern is the chain hitting Ignition Coil Thoughts Thanks, Mike

06SubLegTx
On for manual. Off for auto Matt, Whats your reason(s) for toing it this way... just curious because I am a newbie.. Thanks
lmdew
You can do it either way. If the intake is off and it's an auto Trans leave it off until you have the torque Converter bolted up. Either way works.
GeneralDisorder
On for all. If you have the right tools the TC bolts are no issue at all. GD
golucky66
I've done it both ways. Imo it's much easier to get the torque converter bolts in with the intake off due to the throttle body etc. But it can be done with it on just going to take you longer. The chain with the coil, I also noticed that when I pulled one a few weeks ago, so I just took the take off before removing the engine. Because if you're tearing the engine apart anyways, the intakes gotta come off. So why not be extra safe and not chance it.
Gloyale
I leave it off for both. Makes getting to the heater hose clamps, and lower drivers side engine bolts easier. Installing the intake in car is easy if your careful.
idosubaru
Doesn't matter, take your pick. I now often leave it off for reasons stated. I used to install it first then drop engine in. Not a big difference either way though many first timers would feel more comfortable doing TC bolts with it off.
