I removed the dealership AC from a brat to put in another (will not see the other for a while) and I thought the non-AC brats had a box/duct with a vacuum actuated flap to cover/uncover the fresh air inlet. My brat now has an opening for outside air and if this item exists I wanted to install it to control fresh air/recirculation. If so does any one have a picture of the item for some friends who are looking for this for me?

The AC evaporator box had a flap over the inlet with a cylinder like  thing which had a black hose going to it, I guess I thought it went to the selector panel. I would not mind a manually controlled flap if that is what is there, was just figuring out how to return it to stock non-ac, Was talking to some guys parting out some brats and they were looking for it. Any help appreciated.

When I get to it I know I have a complete heater box that has all the links on it. The only other links are the thin ones from the selector levers.

Has to be gen two for brats to have vacuum actuated controls.

No...gen 1 dealer install AC has been vacuum actuated on all Gen 1s I have had. It depends on the kit that was installed. Kit's were regional and some differed. (York, vs Sanden for example) The kit's also evolved from late 77 thru 1981 and became better and more upgraded toward the end of the production run.
