Hi,

I come here to ask your councils and clarify some doubts. First of all I just want to give a brief introduction to the machine is a 1997 GT of 211CV  (CG8) is my first car and will be a car to keep it stock.

Going back to what matters, unfortunately over the years the pot and the exhaust line are quite corrosive and the exhaust is
already stuck.

In order not to get problems with corrusion again, I'm thinking of putting a new line and exhaust in stainless steel, the exhaust I intend to buy a prodrive and the line to made a new stainless steel in a specialized house.

Now my questions are:

Since I'm going to change the pan and the line do I need to do some reprogramming in the ECU?

And now I take advantage and ask for advice or other opinions about this replacement that I have to do, if you did the same, if you think there are other better solutions ??

Thanks.

Best regards.

I would just go with a stock system.  Why pay for what will be a very expensive system that will far outlast the car?

Hi,

Because i will never be any problems with rust and i can change all the exhaust system for 500€(euros).

Where are you located, dbcooper1?  Can you give us any links to advertisements or websites for the system you're considering?

Hi,

Portugal, the exhaus line is in a specialized store of exhaust systems and the exhaust is a used one i bought in local stores.

Wish I could offer you more help & suggestions but I'm no expert.  I do like the idea of a stainless steel exhaust system--so I wish you luck.  Keep us up on your progress.

Portugal--Wow!  I'll bet it's fun driving a Subaru through the countryside there.

WHEN YOU CHANGE THE SYSTEM IF ITS NOT THE SAME FREE FLOW OR BACK PRESSURE  HOW EVER YOU WANT TO LOOK AT IT YOU WILL HAVE MAKE A CHANGE IN THE FUEL DELIVERY. Engines that i have worked on is always more free flowing for more power which equates to having to make fuel system richer, more gas, Something you may have to play around with to get it right on.

My .02....  OEM = pricey, but in CT w/salted roads, last about 8years.  +/- probably varies with model.

Aftermarket, Rust out, usually at flanges in much shorter time.

Here is what I did:   http://www.dynahoedave.co.nf/exhaust.html

All stainless.  I have not done the last section yet, but will be soon dealing with that.  But the Y pipe and the mid section have been great.  If I have to remove a piece to do anything, it just unbolts.  No fighting with rusted nuts, stuck parts, etc.  The way I made it, I used a tuner cat, and it's a small fraction of the cost to replace it VS the typical cat combined with pipes.  This system even passed emissions testing.

Hello guys,

Thank you for your help I already change the exhaust system but just the downpipe and the exhaust Prodrive kit, the guy from the workshop advise me to doesn´t change all the line because can reprove on the inspection (only in my country) and also because the car loses all the originality.

Thank you.

Cheers.
