orphanhome2
1997 legacy wagon brighton engine EJ22E, manual transmission: The speedometer quit working two days ago and when I slowed to pull into the driveway, the engine died. It started immediately and the check engine light was on. Since then, the check engine light has gone off, but the speedometer does not register and the engine has died three more times while letting up on the gas on approach to a stop sign. A neighbor checked the computer and got a P1507 error. I am more into raising kids than fixing vehicles, so any help will be appreciated. Thanks. GeneralDisorder
I can't recall if that model had a speedometer cable or an electric speed sensor. Whichever one it has is probably suspect. GD
Fairtax4me
97 has a sensor on the side of the trans. Could be a failed sensor, or the little spade that turns the sensor could be broken.
wtdash
Probably this thingamajig. The spade on the end tends to break. Edited July 3, 2017 by wtdash
