Bratastick
I'm running 14" wheels with six lugs. They won't fit in the spare tire location under the hood. Are there any 6 lug wheels with tire that will fit that spot?
Subaru Scott
Late 70's, early 80's GM thought it would be cool to provide these collapsable, inflatable spares with an air canister to fill it. Thereby advertising 1/2 foot more cubic trunk space. Probably all dry-rotted by now, if you could even find one... never mind. Tailgate mount or roof basket would be cooler anyway
Numbchux
Presumeably your current tires are bigger than stock. IMO, a suitably-sized spare (compared to the 4 tires on it), is probably too big to fit under the hood. There isn't even room for a full size stock tire under the hood, so they included a stud to bolt it down in the cargo area.
Subaru Scott
All first and 2nd gen had room for full size spares. Edited July 26, 2017 by Subaru Scott
Numbchux
I'll admit, I've never tried it. But I know 100% that Subaru built a captive nut into the rear cargo floor of EA82 wagons, and included a hardware kit with the tool kit to bolt the full size tire down after you install the compact. I can't imagine anything oversized would really fit..... But, I'm ASSuming that we're talking about an oversized tire. I admit I clicked reply before I realized that it might be fairly close to stock sized. It also occurred to me that we don't know what vehicle he's talking about. He's listed a Brat in the signature. This is why I don't usually reply if I have to make ASSumptions.
Bratastick
Yes it's a Brat. I've got 14" wheels with 195/70 tires, should have specified that originally. I tried one today and it won't even squeeze even part of the way in. Does the full size 13" actually fit under the hood. I haven't tried one of those. I do have the original doughnut. Guess I could drill the wheel on the doughnut and use it.

The spare tire space under the hood would be a perfect place to put a compressor and air tank for air horns See, even the brat smiley has it mounted to the tailgate

Bratastick
I'm thinking about drilling one of the factory 13" rims to 6 lug
